🌐 Contact Sources in Acquaint

Contact Sources help track how a Contact was introduced to your business—whether through a walk-in, referral, online form, or marketing campaign. This is essential for understanding lead generation and optimizing outreach strategies.

To view or edit Sources: File → Configuration → Contacts → Sources

You can define unlimited custom Sources to suit your business needs.

🛠️ Source Configuration Fields

Field

Purpose

Description

Name of the Source (e.g. Office Visit, Referral, Social Media)

Inactive

Retires the Source from active use (removes it from lookup options)

🧾 Default Sources

Acquaint includes these by default:

  • Direct Contact – Contact initiated directly by the individual

  • Web Site – Contact came via your online presence

  • Press – Contact originated from media coverage or advertising

💡 Best Practices

  • Use clear and specific descriptions (e.g. Facebook Ad, Rightmove Enquiry, Walk-In) to improve reporting accuracy.

  • Regularly review and deactivate outdated Sources to keep the list relevant.

  • Consider aligning Sources with your marketing channels to track ROI more effectively.
