đź”— Property Chain Overview
The Property Chain feature in Acquaint provides a graphical representation of the sales chain a property is part of. Each property in the chain is displayed as a box in a flowchart, showing its position and relationship to other properties.
📦 What Each Chain Item Displays
-
Client’s Name
-
Property Address (or client’s address if no property is linked)
-
Estate Agent Details (if entered and not linked to a property)
🎨 Colour Coding of Chain Items
-
🟩 Green – Active item (no exchange or completion date reached)
-
🟨 Amber – Exchange date reached
-
🟥 Red – Completion date reached
-
⬜ Grey – Inactive item (e.g. rejected offer)
🧠How Acquaint Builds Property Chains
When loading a property with a status of Under Offer or Completed, Acquaint checks if it belongs to an existing chain:
-
If found in one chain: it loads automatically
-
If found in multiple chains: you’ll be prompted to choose
-
If not found: a new chain is created
🔄 Chain Construction Process
-
Create a chain item for the current property
-
Build forwards from the current item (based on accepted offers by the contact)
-
Build backwards from the current item (based on the purchaser’s property and offers)
⚠️ If a contact owns multiple properties for sale, the chain-building process stops to avoid ambiguity. You’ll need to manually specify the purchaser.
