SMS Text Templates

SMS Text Templates allow the creation of reusable SMS Texts with personalized content via Merge Fields.

SMS Text Templates can be accessed from the Configuration & Administration Tab of the ribbon menu and clicking on the Templates icon and selecting SMS Texts.

New Templates can be created at any time and there is no limit to the number of Templates defined.

Each Template has the following fields:

Under the General Details tab

• Description - description for the SMS Text Templates

• Group - the Template Group this Template is associated with e.g. General, Sales, Lettings etc

• Flag Contacts - will create an entry in the Correspondence tab for each Contact sent to if ticked

• Follow-up Task Interval - if set a Task will be created for the User who created the SMS Text for the Contact which will appear x days in the future based on the Follow-up Task Interval

• Inactive -select this checkbox if the SMS Text Template is no longer to be used. This will stop it appearing in the lookup table.

Under the SMS Text Options tab

• Message

  • Merge Fields can be inserted into the Message to personalize content e.g. "Dear John" by clicking Insert Field.

  • A normal SMS Text messages is 160 characters in length. If a message exceeds 160 characters it will be sent as multiple texts and incur the cost of additional credits. These messages will be reconstructed by the recipient mobile, and appear to be a single message.
