Definable Fields

In addition to the standard fields in Acquaint, definable, customizable fields can be created for both Properties and Contacts.

Accessed via File -> Configuration -> Definable Fields

Both Contacts and Properties have a limit of 10 User Defined Fields.

Creating Field Groups

These define whether the field is going to be applicable to Properties, Contacts and Progression. For Contacts click Add to specify certain Contact Types it will apply to.

Creating User Fields

  1. Click New to create a User Defined field.

  2. Enter a Description and select a Field Group

  3. Select a Type from the drop-down list, this will define the behaviour of the field. Choose from the following options

  • Text Multi Line

  • Drop Down List

  • Checked List

  • Currency

  • Numeric

  • Date

  • Document Link

  • Text Single Line

  • Web Link

  • Contact Link

  • Property Link

List Options are only applicable to the Drop Down Lists and Checked List enabling the user to choose from predefined options. Click Add to add the options.

The fields should then appear on the Contact or Property record labelled by the Field group.

In our example, a Definable Field Group has been created for Applicant Contact Types

Definable Field has been created for 'Salary', linked to the Definable Field Group 'Extra info' with a type of Currency.

An 'Extra info' field will appear against all Applicant records. Clicking Edit against the Contact will enable you to enter the information in the Definable Fields as required.
